My favorite album all year. I recently heard a self leaked version from Spin Magazine a week before the album was suppose to actually be released. I was pleasantly surprised when the album was super good!
With La Liberacion, CSS has finally realized that they have their own unique sound. This is something that you could tell they were struggling with in their last album, Donkey. It was a mesh of good and bad. La Liberacion goes back to their roots. It is very much like their first album. Dance beats left and right, and mellow grooves for when you get thirsty. It’s like they are taking the listener / dancer on a journey of the heart.
My favorite song on the album is City Grrrl. It reminds me of times away from the city. When your away from the city, you feel like your confined to the standards of the little town you may be in. When you are in the city, you can dress however you please without any repructions. I can feel where they are coming from. Not only does this song have some pretty groovy meaning, but the beat is fly as hell, and the lead singer of SSION opens the song and has a special verse. It’s a hot track, and it should be on every radio station ever.

La Liberacion is full of high hats and mad claps, and I recommend you give it a listen. The tracks are still available for free on Spin Magazines website, and you can check it out here.
